    The present invention provides a propylene/1-butene random copolymer (PBR) having excellent flexibility, impact resistance, heat resistance and low-temperature heat-seal properties, a polypropylene composition containg the copolymer, a sheet, film or stretched film comprising the composition and a composite film having a layer of the composition. The propylene/1-butene random copolymer contains 60 to 90 mol % of propylene units and 10 to 40 mol % of 1-butene units and has a triad isotacticity of not less than 85% and not more than 97.5%, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of from 1 to 3, an intrinsic viscosity of from 0.1 to 12 dl/g, a melting point (Tm) of from 40 to 120° C., and satisfies the following relation 146 exp(−0.022M)≧ Tm ≧125 exp(−0.032M) wherein Tm represents a melting point and M (mol %) represents a content of 1-butene constituent units. The invention, further, provides a transition metal compound useful as an olefin polymerization catalyst and an olefin polymerization catalyst containing the transition metal compound. The transition metal compound is represented by the following formula (2a): wherein each of R 1 and R 3 is hydrogen, R 2 and R 4 are selected from a hydrocarbon group and silicon-containing group, R 5 to R 13 are selected from hydrogen, a hydrocarbon group and silicon-containing group, and adjacent substituent groups R 5 to R 12 may be linked to form a ring. R 14 is an aryl group, and R 13 and R 14 may be linked to form a ring. M is a Group 4 transition metal, Y is a carbon atom, Q is halogen, etc, and j is an integer of 1 to 4.

The food container has a low level of offensive odors and discoloration.

    Disclosed is a polypropylene composition comprising (A) polypropylene and (B) a specific propylene-l-butene random copolymer in a specific amount ratio. The propylene-l-butene random copolymer (B) is characterized in that: (1) the copolymer contains 50 to 95 % by mol of constituent units from propylene and 50 to 5 % by mol of constituent units from 1-butene, (2) the intrinsic viscosity, as measured in decahydronaphthalene at 135 °C, is in the range of 0.1 to 12 dl/g, (3) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn), as determined measured by GPC, is not more than 3, and (4) the parameter B value indicating randomness of the copolymerized monomer sequence distribution is in the range of 1.0 to 1.5. Also disclosed is a polypropylene composite film comprising (I) a crystalline polypropylene layer and (II) a layer formed from the polypropylene composition, which is laminated on at least one surface of the crystalline polypropylene layer (I). The polypropylene composition is excellent in heat resistance and low-temperature heat-sealing properties as well as in flexibility and impact resistance. The polypropylene composite film is excellent in not only heat-sealing properties, particularly low-temperature heat-sealing properties, but also transparency, scratch resistance and blocking resistance.

    The present invention relates to an ethylene-based copolymer useful as a modifier for resins, e.g., polypropylene, and an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer composition containing the same ethylene-based copolymer. The ethylene-based copolymer [I] of the present invention is characterized by: (a-1) having temperature (Tm) at the maximum peak in the endothermic curve, measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), of 40 to 90°C, (a-2) containing the component soluble in decane at normal temperature at 1 to 70% by weight, and (a-3) containing the component soluble in decane at normal temperature which comprises (i) a recurring unit derived from ethylene and (ii) a recurring unit derived from an α-olefin of 4 or more carbon atoms, and in which a content of (i) the recurring unit derived from ethylene is 50 to 75% by mole. The ethylene-based copolymer composition [II] of the present invention is characterized by containing the ethylene-based copolymer which satisfies the following conditions (b-1) to (b-3): (b-1) having temperature (Tm) at the maximum peak in the endothermic curve of the component soluble in decane at 64°C, measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), of 40 to 90°C, (b-2) containing the component soluble in decane at 64°C which contains the component soluble in decane at normal temperature at 1 to 70% by weight, and (b-3) containing the component soluble in decane at normal temperature which comprises (i) a recurring unit derived from ethylene and (ii) a recurring unit derived from an α-olefin of 4 or more carbon atoms, and in which a content of (i) the recurring unit derived from ethylene is 50 to 75% by mole.
