New stable azido derivatives of divalent germanium and tin [N3-E14-OCH2CH2NMe2]2 (E14 = Ge (1), Sn (2)) have been synthesized by use of the β-dimethylaminoethoxy ligand that forms the intramolecular E14 ← N coordination bond.
