Unexpected cycloadducts from reactions of cyclopentadienone with allylic alcohols and amines

The exo [4+2]π cycloadducts of 2,5-bis(methoxycarbonyl)-3,4-diphenylcyclopentadienone (Ia) and allylic or homoallylic alcohols (II) transformed into hydrophthalide derivatives. The reaction of Ia with allylic amines gave novel tetracyclic compounds. The structures of the products were by X-ray analyses.
2,5-双(甲氧基羰基)-3,4-二苯基环戊二烯酮(Ia)与烯丙基或均烯丙基醇(II)的exo [4 + 2]π环加合物转化为氢邻苯二甲酸酯衍生物。Ia与烯丙基胺的反应产生了新的四环化合物。产品的结构通过X射线分析。
