  The compounds ##STR1## in which X and Y are, independently, --O-- or --S--; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are, independently, halo, trifluoromethyl, cyano, hydroxy, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkoxy, alkyl or alkanoylamino; and n is 1 to 4; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, are selective serotonergic agents useful in the treatment of depression and/or anxiety, as well as related sexual dysfunctions and appetite disorders.
