Nitrogen mustard ionic carbonate with stable carbonate moiety was synthesized and cross-linked with the biopolymer chitosan. Subsequently, nanoparticles of cross linked chitosan were prepared for wound healing application.
A process for preparing aminoethers, particularly bis[2-(N,N-dialkylamino)alkyl]ethers, which comprises contacting a carboxylated aminoether with a metal oxide catalyst under conditions effective to produce the aminoether. The invention relates to processes for producing di-(tertiary aminoalkyl) carbonate including the step of reacting a tertiary alkanolamine with methyl alkyl carbonate in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to form tertiary aminoalkyl alkyl carbonate, wherein some of the tertiary alkanolamine reacts with the tertiary aminoalkyl alkyl carbonate to form di-(tertiary aminoalkyl) carbonate. The invention also relates to processes for producing di-(tertiary aminoalkyl) carbonate including the steps of (i) reacting dimethyl carbonate with an alcohol in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to form a methyl alkyl carbonate, and (ii) reacting a tertiary alkanolamine with the methyl alkyl carbonate formed in step i) in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to form tertiary aminoalkyl alkyl carbonate, wherein some of the tertiary alkanolamine reacts with the tertiary aminoalkyl alkyl carbonate to form di-(tertiary aminoalkyl) carbonate.
