生物活性

Pronethalol ((±)-Pronethalo) 是一种非选择性的 β-肾上腺素 (β-adrenergic) 拮抗剂，同时也是有效的 Sox2 表达抑制剂。Pronethalol 可以预防和逆转洋地黄引起的室性心律失常，并且可以限制脑动静脉畸形 (AVMs)。

体外研究

在 ReNcell VM 细胞中，Pronethalol (2、10 和 20 μM 浓度) 剂量依赖性和时间依赖性地抑制了 EGFP 表达。在处理 2 天后，使用 10 μM Pronethalol 处理 2 天可将 Sox2 表达降低至不到 10%。

体内研究

在每天给予 0.15 mg/g Pronethalol 连续 14 天的实验中，在 Mgp –/– 小鼠中，Pronethalol 稳定了内皮分化、促进了腔室形成，并改善了脑动静脉畸形 (AVMs)。
