This work details a new N-oxyl scaffold that is a promising hydrogenatom transfer catalyst. Although the conventional N-oxyl catalyst design within the phthalimide-N-oxyl scaffold provides modest improvement on either reactivity or stability, the increase of one parameter often strongly impacts the other. For the first time, we found that within hydantoin-N-oxyl scaffold, the N-oxyl persistence can
