Synthesis of 2,3,5-trisubstituted furans can be performed at 120°C in DMF using aryl gem-dibromoethenes and ethylacetoacetate as the starting substrates under the assistance of Ag2CO3–Cs2CO3–KOAc system. The structures of the products were confirmed by IR, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
