Piperidine and dimethylamine are shown to react with the isoxazolinopyridinium cation I to yield 2-ω-aminobutadienyl-isoxazolines of type III. The amino adducts undergo protonation to yield at least three and probably four distinct protonated species (XIV, XV, XVI and XIIIa) under different conditions of acidity.
