  Pyridinium compounds containing a cation having the formula la or lb and a pharmaceutically acceptable cation are useful as pharmaceuticals, particularly as anti-fungal agents.   Compounds containing a cation of formula Ia ##STR1## and a pharmaceutically acceptable anion are anti-fungal agents.
