Synthesis and crystal structure of a zinc tris(xanthate) anionic derivative with a diaminoacridine cation

A novel xanthate complex [HL](+)[Zn(S2COEt)(3)](-) (L = 3,6-diaminoacridine) has been sythesized by reaction of [Zn(S2COEt)(2)] with 3,6-diaminoacridine hemisulfate. The structure of the compound reveals that the three xantathe ligands show different coordination modes to the zinc and cations and anions are arranged in a supramolecular array in which H-bonding interactions are present.
