Self-Assembly, Crystal Structure and Thermal Property of a Coordination Polymer [(DDTD)(Cu<sub>3</sub>I<sub>5</sub>)]<sub>n</sub>

A novel coordination polymer [(DDTD)(Cu3I5)](n)(DDTD = 5, 8-diazoniadispiro[4.2.4.2]tetradecane dication) was obtained and characterized by X-ray crystallography, elemental analyses, and IR spectroscopy. In the polymer, a unique 1D helical chain of (Cu3I5)(n) cluster was constructed, and the C-H center dot center dot center dot I intermolecular interactions extended the 1D entities into high-dimensional frameworks to stabilize the supramolecular architecture. Furthermore, thermal property (TG, DTG and DSA) of the polymer was studied.
