  Two diarylethene trimers bridged by ethenyl and ethynyl groups were synthesized and their photochromic behaviors were examined. Upon irradiation of the trimers 2 and 4 with UV light, one-three photoinduced cyclization reactions occur. Each isomer was isolated and analyzed by H-1 NMR spectrum.
