  Three new xanthones, 2,5-dihydroxy-1-methoxylxanthone, 1-O-methylsymphoxanthone and garciniaxanthone E, have been isolated along with the previously known symphoxanthone and subelliptenone A from the wood of Garcinia subelliptica.
