    An excellent oil-thickening or -gelling agent is provided. The agent is compatible with various oils and can freely control the form or viscosity of oily raw materials or cosmetics by changing the quantity thereof added. The agent contains a novel co-modified organopolysiloxane that contains both a group having a siloxane dendron structure and a hydrophilic group and that preferably has a degree of polymerization of 200 or more. A gel composition containing the co-modified organopolysiloxane is also provided. The gel composition is useful as a base that permits stable and easy preparation of cosmetics having various viscoelasticities and forms. An oil is kept in the form of a gel that has a viscoelasticity falling within the intermediate range between the viscoelasticity of liquid and that of solid. Cosmetics containing the thickening or gelling agent are also provided.

    This invention publishes new usages of kinds of carbonic ester compounds. The new usage described in this invention is related to the application of carbonic ester compounds in the preparation of solvents for chemiluminescent systems. This invention also provides luminescent compositions, luminescent liquids and oxidized liquids that contain carbonic ester compounds. Chemiluminescent compositions containing carbonic ester compounds can decrease reaction pressure effectively, facilitate reaction balance heading to luminescence reaction, generate larger luminescent output without adding catalyst, decrease the dosage of catalyst or not need adding catalyst, decrease influences of over-high output at the reaction start caused by catalyst on whole luminescent time, and ensure stable light output from luminescent compositions. Carbonic ester compounds, especially long carbon chain carbonic ester, have the characters of non-toxic and high flash point, and have suitable solubility on ordinary bis oxalate ester. Carbonic ester compounds are environment-friendly solvents, which can be widely accepted and recognized no matter in industrial synthesization or in applications.

    The present invention is a method for producing an N-substituted carbamic acid ester derived from an organic amine from an organic amine, a carbonic acid derivative and a hydroxy composition containing one or more types of hydroxy compounds, wherein the organic amine, the carbonic acid derivative and the hydroxy composition are reacted using a urethane production reaction vessel provided with a condenser, a gas containing the hydroxy composition, the compound having the carbonyl group derived from the carbonic acid derivative, and an ammonia formed as a by-product in the reaction, is introduced into the condenser provided in the urethane production reaction vessel, and the hydroxy composition and the compound having the carbonyl group derived from the carbonic acid derivative are condensed, and wherein a stoichiometric ratio of a hydroxy compound contained in the condensed hydroxy composition to the condensed compound having the carbonyl group derived from the carbonic acid derivative is 1 or more, and a ratio of number of carbonyl groups (—C(═O)—) contained in the compound having the carbonyl group derived from the carbonic acid derivative and number of ammonia molecules contained in the ammonia recovered as a gas from the condenser is 1 or less.
