Visible‐Light‐Induced Insertion of Sulfur Dioxide Mediated by Electron Donor–Acceptor Complex: Synthesis and Photophysical Properties of 3‐Sulfonyl Indolizines

sulfonylation of indolizines are developed thanks to an electron donor–acceptor complex approach. The formation of two new C−S bonds, without further pre-functionnalization, in metal-free and mild conditions renders this three-component approach sustainable and green. The newly 3-sulfonylated indolizines show promising photophysical properties with high fluorescence and large Stokes shifts.
