A straightforward synthesis of amides, ureas, and esters is reported by visible-light cross-dehydrogenating coupling (CDC) of aldehydes (or amine carbaldehydes) and amines/R-OTBS ethers by photoredoxcatalysis. The reaction is found to be general and high yielding. A plausible mechanistic pathway has been proposed for these transformations and is supported by appropriate controlled experiments.
The invention is directed to a cosmetic composition and the precursor thereof. The composition has solid agent and liquid agent, both of which are cosmetic benefit ingredients. The solubility of solid agents in liquid agents in the inventive compositions is enhanced in the presence of a tricyclodecane amide.

A practical and efficient protocol for the preparation of 11C‐labelled alkyl amides by using a low‐pressure xenon system is presented. This methodology, based on a thermally initiated radical carbonylation, provides a valuable complement to the transition‐metal‐mediated reaction since it allows the use of non‐activated β‐hydride‐containing substrates.
