2,5,5-Trimethyl-2-trimethylsilyloxy-Δ3-1,3,4-oxadiazoline decomposes, in solution at 80 °C, by cycloreversion to N2 and a carbonyl ylide. The ylide was trapped by cycloaddition to dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylale, to acrylonitrile, and to methyl acrylate.
