The synthesis of tritium and carbon-14 labeled robalzotan is described. Tritiated robalzotan 8 was obtained after catalytic hydrogenation of (R)-methyl 6-bromo-3-(N,N-dicyclobutylamino)-8-fluoro-3,4-dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-5-carboxylate (7) with tritium gas using palladium as a catalyst.
