    Vic-Difluorination proceeds by the reaction of fluoroalkenes with xenon difluoride to afford the corresponding fluorinated compounds. From the reaction with polyfluoroalkenes, the products are obtained in high to excellent yields. In this reaction, the fluorine atom substituent of alkene stabilizes the cation intermediate and suppresses side-reactions such as rearrangement.

    The present invention relates to 1-(Azolin-2-yl)-amino-1,2-heterocyclyl-ethane compounds, which are useful for combating insects, arachnids and nematodes. The present invention also relates to methods for combating animal pests and to compositions for combating animal pests. It has been found that animal pests can be combated by 1-(Azolin-2-yl)-amino-1,2-heterocyclyl-ethane compounds of the general formula (I): wherein A is a radical of the formulae A 1 or A 2 : and wherein X is sulfur, oxygen or NR 7 , and Het A , Het B and R 1 to R 7 are defined as in the description.

    A taggant comprising at least one perfluorocarbon compound surrounded by a polyphosphazene compound. The polyphosphazene compound has the chemical structure: wherein G 1 and G 2 are pendant groups having different polarities, m is an integer greater than or equal to 100, and each of A and B is independently selected from hydrogen, an alkyl, an alkene, an alkoxide, a polyether, a polythioether, a siloxane, and —X(CH 2 ) n Y 1 (CH 2 )p 1 Y 2 (CH 2 )p 2 . . . Y i (CH 2 )p i CH 3 , where n ranges from 1 to 6, X and Y are independently selected from oxygen, sulfur, selenium, tellurium, and polonium, and p 1 through p i range from 1 to 6. Cyclic polyphosphazene compounds lacking the A and B groups are also disclosed, as are methods of forming the taggant and of detecting an object.
