  The instant invention relates to mesogenic compounds with mesogenic group and one or more bulky end groups which each contain at least two ring elements, where two of these ring elements are linked to a centre atom or to a centre group by a direct bond or via a linking group, preferably of Formula (I) wherein the parameters are as specified in the text.
