  Tetrasubstituted urea derived chloroamidinium salts reacted with α-amino esters to give new chiral pentasubstituted guanidines. Further alkylation with methyl iodide provided hexa-substituted guanidinium salts, which represent new chiral room temperature ionic liquids.
