  The present invention provides compounds of formula I, ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen; alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms; cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms; alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms mono-substituted by cycloalkyl of 3 to 7 carbon atoms; phenylalkyl of 7 to 11 carbon atoms in the aggregate thereof, wherein the phenyl ring is unsubstituted or mono-substituted by halogen of atomic number from 9 to 35, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; alkenyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms, wherein the multiple bond is other than in the .alpha.,.beta. position; or 2-hydroxyethyl, and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, having GABA-like activity.
