The complexes (Ph3P)(R3E) PtPPh2(CH2)(n)SiR21 (n = 2: R' = Me: ER3 = SiPh3, SiMePh2, SnPh3; R' = Ph: ER3 = SiPh3, SiMePh2; n = 1, R' = Me, ER, = SiPh,) are obtained by reaction of Ph2P(CH2)(n)SiR'2ER3 with (Ph3P)(2)Pt(pi-C2H4). The bis(silyl) complex (Ph3P)(Ph2Si)PtPPh2CH2SiMe2 was characterized by an X-ray structure analysis, which showed the two silyl groups to be cis (Pt-Si 236.8(1) and 237.4(1) pm).
