Reactions of (4,6-disubstituted 1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)trimethylammonium chlorides with glycine sodium salt in the presence of Et3N afforded bis(triazin-2-yl) ethers instead of the expected triazinylaminoacetic acids. The structures of the resulting compounds were established by the independent synthesis, spectroscopic data, and X-ray diffraction analysis.
