  Stabilizer compounds for organic polymers, containing a sterically hindered amino group are definable by means of the general formula (I): where: R¹ is the hydrogen atom, or an alkyl or a benzyl group; and R is a primary, secondary or tertiary alkyl group containing at least 12 carbon atoms. These compounds can be obtained by means of the reaction of an alkaly or alkaly-earth metal with a primary, secondary or tertiary alkyl halide containing at least 12 carbon atoms, in order to yield the corresponding metallorganic derivative and subsequently reacting this latter with 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-piperidone, or with an N-substituted derivative thereof. The so obtained compounds are endowed with an activity of stabilization against the degradating action performed by light on the organic polymers, in particular on polyolefins.
