AbstractThe synthesis and characterisation of fifteen new organotin compounds containing at least two CF3(CF2)5CH2‐CH2 groups bound to tin are described. The activity of six of these compounds towards the murine P388 lymphocytic leukaemia tumour is given.
Synthesis and characterization of fluoroalkyldistannoxanes

1.3-Disubstituted tetrakis(fluoroalkyl)distannoxanes (XRf(2)SnOSnRf(2)Y)(2) (Rf = C6F13C2H4, C4F9C2H4; X, Y = Cl, Br, NCS) were synthesized from readily available dibenzyltin dibromide. The dimeric formulation of these compounds that was confirmed by Sn-119-NMR spectra gave rise to a structure in which the metalloxane core is covered by the surface fluorophilic alkyl groups. Thus. these compounds exhibited high solubility in fluorocarbon solvents and large partition coefficients for FC-72 against common organic solvent. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
