    It has been shown, on the basis of the analysis of CIDNP effects, that allene and (Me3Si)2NH — major products of the photoinduced reaction of Et3SnCH2CHCH2 and (Me3Si)2NBr — result from a radical pair comprised of CH2CHBrCH2SnEt3 and N(SiMe3)2 free radicals. Allene is formed through the β-cleavage of the short-lived homolytic substitution product Et3SnCH2CBrCH2.

    A series of allyl- and β-methallyltin compounds have been prepared by the action of the olefinic Grignard reagent on the appropriate tin halide and their infrared spectra recorded.     Organotin compounds such as allyltrimethyltin, cyclopentadienyl trimethyltin, indenyltrimethyltin etc., react with a wide variety of metal carbonyl halides and other metal carbonyl compounds to afford the corresponding π-enyl metal carbonyl derivatives.     A series of mono- and diallyl- and β-methallyltin compounds was treated with hydrogen polysulfide to form tin containing polysulfides. In each case, the course of the reaction was followed by infrared spectroscopy and the mode of addition determined.
