  Disclosed are monopersulfates of nitrogen containing hetero­cyclic (poly)percarboxylic acids of formula: wherein: R represents hydrogen or alkyl, (hetero)cycloalkyl, (hetero)aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl, said groups being optionally substituted, a carboxylic group or a percarboxylic group, or any other substituents non-reactive in the presence of the percarboxylic group; R¹ represents an alkyl group having more than 5 carbon atoms; n is selected from 0,1 and 2; m is selected from 1, 2 and 3; and the heterocyclic ring may optionally be condensed with at least one further (hetero) aromatic or (hetero)cycloalkyl ring.
