  α‐trifluoromethyl allyl benzoate to alcohols in the presence of an ortho‐cyclometalated iridium catalyst results in the generation of aldehyde–allyliridium intermediates to form enantiomerically enriched products of anti‐(α‐trifluoromethyl)allylation.
