Methods including introducing a treatment fluid comprising a solvent-base fluid and a consolidation composition into a wellbore in a subterranean formation, the consolidation comprising, a crosslinking diverting agent, a hardening agent, and a multi-functional epoxy resin, the multi-functional epoxy resin comprising at least three epoxy groups; coating a face of the subterranean formation with the consolidation composition; and at least partially curing the consolidation composition in the wellbore, to reduce production of unconsolidated particulates from the subterranean formation into the wellbore.

A delayed reaction treatment additive for treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore is provided. The treatment additive includes a clay sensitive multi-internal phase macro-emulsion formed using a cationic emulsifier and having an internal phase and an aqueous-based continuous phase. The internal phase of the macro-emulsion includes a delayed reaction treating agent. The treating agent includes a first component and a second component that retain their separate identities in the macro-emulsion and are prevented from reacting until the emulsion breaks. The triggering agent for breaking the emulsion is clay. A method of treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore with a delayed reaction treatment additive is also provided.
