Abstract Palladium phosphonium complexes with mononuclear anions [Ph3PCH2CN][PdBr4], [Ph4P][PdBr4], and [Ph3PC5H9-cyclo][PdBr3(Et2SO)] were synthesized by the reaction of organyltriphenylphosphonium bromides with palladium(II) bromide in the presence of hydrobromic acid followed by recrystallization from acetonitrile, dimethylsulfoxide, or diethyl sulfoxide.
