alcohols can be achieved in the presence of a molecularly-defined homogeneous cobalt catalyst. Specifically, the use of Co(BF4)2 in combination with either commercial or tailor-made tridentate phosphine ligands allows for additive-free hydrogenations of carbonates. Optimal results are obtained at relatively mild conditions (120 °C, 50 bar hydrogen pressure) in the presence of xylyl-Triphos L4.
Carbonate phosphonium salts as catalysts for the transesterification of dialkyl carbonates with diols. The competition between cyclic carbonates and linear dicarbonate products
At 90–120 °C, in the presence of methylcarbonate and bicarbonate methyltrioctylphosphonium salts as catalysts ([P8881][A]; [A] = MeOCO2 and HOCO2), the transesterification of non-toxic dimethyl- and diethyl-carbonate (DMC and DEC, respectively) with 1,X-diols (2 ≤ X ≤ 6) proceeds towards the formation of cyclic and linear products. In particular, 1,2-propanediol and ethylene glycol afford propylene-

Disclosed is a nonaqueous secondary battery having a nonaqueous electrolyte containing a lithium salt dissolved in an organic solvent, in which the positive electrode active material is preferably a manganese-containing, lithium transition metal oxide salt. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains at least one compound of general formula (1), preferably at least one compound of general formula (1′). The content of the compound of formula (1) or (1′) in the nonaqueous electrolyte is preferably 0.001 to 10 mass %. The symbols in formulae (1) and (1′) are as defined in the description.
Na‐based electrolytes that comprise various NaX [X=hexafluorophosphate (PF6), perchlorate (ClO4), bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI), fluorosulfonyl‐(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (FTFSI), and bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (FSI)] salts and solvent mixtures [ethylene carbonate (EC)/dimethyl carbonate (DMC), EC/diethyl carbonate (DEC), and EC/propylenecarbonate (PC)] with respect to the Al current collector
