  Heating of monomeric tin(II) amides, Sn[N(SiMe3)R]2 (1a: R = t-Bu; 1c: R = t-Oct) at 60–90°C for 1–4 h leads to the aminosilanes HN(SiMe3)R, tin, and to the cyclometalated spiro-compounds (2a,2c). The compounds are characterized by 1H, 13C, 15N, 29Si and 119Sn NMR, mass spectra and elemental analyses.
