CmCl3 has been found to exhibit the hexagonal UCl3 structure. Powder data from two samples give average lattice parameters a = 7·380 ± 0·006 Å and c = 4·186 ± 0·010 Å, where the error limits are the 95 per cent confidence interval calculated using the standard statistical method for the average of two independent determinations.
