Pharmaceutical, chemical and biological agents containing a reversible disulfide linker are described. These agents can also be covalently bound or contained in delivery vehicles for delivering the agents to desired targets or areas. Also described are delivery vehicles which contain an agent having a reversible disulfide linker and to vehicles that are covalently linked to the agent containing a reversible disulfide linker. The modifications described herein can modify properties of the agents and vehicles, thereby providing desired solubility, stability, hydrophobicity and targeting while the reversibility of the linker can leave the agent to which it is attached free from residual chemical groups after being reduced.

The present application relates to a cosmetic composition comprising at least one carbonic acid ester corresponding to formula (I) below:
R1—O—CO—O—R2 (I)
in which R1 and R2 are identical or different and represent a linear or branched hydrocarbon-based radical, with the proviso that:
when R1 and R2 are linear, they each contain from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, with 6≦R1+R2≦7; and
when R1 and/or R2 are branched, they each contain from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, with 6≦R1+R2≦9.
This composition can be used as a product for caring for and/or making up keratin materials, in particular the skin, the lips and/or the integuments.

The gas-phase eliminationkinetics of 2-substituted ethyl methylcarbonates were determined in a static reaction system over the temperature range of 323–435°C and pressure range 28.5–242 Torr. The reactions are homogeneous, unimolecular and follow a first-order rate law. The kinetic and thermodynamic parameters are reported. The 2-substituents of the ethyl methylcarbonate (CH3OCOOCH2CH2Z, Z=substituent)
