  Process for the synthesis of hindered polysubstituted α-amino acetamides by reaction of a secondary amine with an α-halo acetamide in a basic organic reaction medium and in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst. The product thus obtained can comprise a multifunctional compound having one or more hindered amino moieties.
