Six X-ray crystal structures are reported, all containing substituted triphenylmethanol derivative 4 either alone or as its mono or bis(chromiumtricarbonyl) complexes. All four chromiumcomplexes studied crystallize with two independent molecules in the crystallographic asymmetric unit.
