Antimony tribromide reacts with t-butylmagnesium chloride under formation of tri-t-butylstibine (I). The reaction of hexacarbonylchromium, hexacarbonylmolybdenum, or hexacarbonyltungsten with I results in the elimination of one CO ligand and formation of the corresponding pentacarbonyltri-t-butylstibinechromium(0), -molybdenum(0), or -tungsten(0) complexes.
