5‐tetrazines in bioorthogonal chemistry and functional materials. Lewis acid metal catalysts—most notably divalent nickel and zinc salts—are described to catalyze the one‐pot synthesis of 1,2,4,5‐tetrazines directly fromaliphaticnitriles (see scheme).
