It has been established that the electrolysis of 2,3-epoxypropylsulfides, -sulfoxides and -sulfones on Pt or glassy carbon cathodes proceeds via the cleavage of the αCH bond, followed by intramolecular interaction of the α-carbanion with epoxidic ring to give corresponding allylic alcohols in good yields.
