    The present invention provides, in part, asymmetric piperazine-based lipid compounds of Formula (I'), and sub-formulas thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compounds provided herein can be useful for delivery and expression of mRNA and encoded protein, e.g., as a component of liposomal delivery vehicle, and accordingly can be useful for treating various diseases, disorders and conditions, such as those associated with deficiency of one or more proteins.

    Process for utilizing a reaction zone containing a catalyst to interchangeably conduct separate organic amine condensation reactions and a separation zone to interchangeably conduct separations of the reaction product streams of such reactions. A first organic condensation reaction using a first reactant or set of reactants is conducted in the reaction zone in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of the catalyst and at a temperature and pressure sufficient for the first organic condensation reaction to occur. Then, after termination of the first organic condensation reaction, a second organic condensation reaction using a second reactant or set of reactants is conducted in the reaction zone in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of the catalyst and at a temperature and pressure sufficient for the second organic condensation reaction to occur. The reaction product from each of the separate organic reactions is separated into at least one component, e.g., reaction product, using the same separation zone. The reaction zone contains at least two distillation columns, preferably five distillation columns.

    Substantially closed cell rigid polyurethane foam cores of laminates are disclosed which are scorch-free, have a density not greater than 50 kg/m³ and are made using water as the sole or main blowing agent and without the need to use a CFC. The foams are prepared from polyol compositions comprising the product of alkoxylating an initiator having a functionality of more than 2, at least one aromatic ring and at least one amino nitrogen atom. The initiator is preferably a Mannich condensate of a phenolic compound, formaldehyde and ammonia or an alkanolamine and the polyol is prefably used together with a second polyol having a functionality (or average functionality) of at least 1 but less than 3 and a molecular weight Mw (or average molecular weight) of 250 to 4000.

    A rigid polyurethane-modified polyisocyanurate composition having improved physical properties obtained by curing a thermosettable composition containing an alkoxylated aromatic compound, organic polyisocyanate and a liquid modifying agent such as a cyclic alkylene carbonate using an isocyanate trimerization catalyst. The use of an alkoxylated aromatic compound permits a reduction in the proportion of organic polyisocyanate required to achieve satisfactory tensile strength and stiffness.
