  此前，作者对Larrea tridentata的地上部分进行了植物化学研究，并报道了三萜糖苷和木酚素衍生物。继续前期研究，分离得到17种木脂素及木脂素苷( 1-17 )，其中7种新化合物( 1-7 )。在此，基于光谱分析和酶水解确定了新化合物的结构。检查了1 – 17对 HL-60 人早幼粒细胞白血病细胞的细胞毒性。化合物4 – 11和14 – 16对HL-60细胞具有细胞毒性，IC 50值在2.7–17 μM范围内。化合物6是前所未有的化合物中细胞毒性最强的，显示可诱导 HL-60 细胞凋亡。
