The treatment of several branched methylchlorooligosilanes (Si-4, Si-5) with diethylamine leads to a partial or complete substitution of the chloro substituents for diethylamino groups under formation of the first known (diethylamino)-methylchlorooligosilanes containing more than two Si atoms. The condensation of (Et2N)(2)MeSi-SiMeCl(NEt2) (1d) with Li in THF yields the linear tetrasilane (Et2N)(2)MeSi-SiMe(NEt2)-SiMe(NEt2)-SiMe(Et2N)(2) (2a).The NMR investigations provided information of the general shift ranges of several Si units in (diethylamino)-methylchlorooligosilane systems as well as the number of stereoisomers of the prepared products.
