  The phase diagram of the Sc-Au system has been investigated in the range 20 to 90 at.%Au, using differential thermal analysis, metallographic analysis, X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. A total of six intermediate phases has been found. Three of them have been confirmed: ScAu4 (MoNi4-type), ScAu2 (MoSi2-type) and ScAu (CsCl-type), while ScAu3 (TiCu3-type), Sc2Au (anti PbCl2-type)and Sc3.5Au (Hf54Os17-type derived) have been found for the first time in this investigation.
