    The invention relates to hardly soluble antiphlogistic salts and antiphlogistic-antibiotic pharmaceutical preparations and their use. The hardly water soluble antiphlogistic antibiotics salts have as their cationic component one of the antibiotics gentamicin, clindamycin, neomycin, streptomycin, tetracycline, doxicyline, oxytetracycline and rolitetracycline and as their anionic component one of the antiphlogistics ibuprofen, naproxen, indomethacin, dexamethasone-21-phosphate, dexamethasone-21-sulfate, triamcinolone-21-phosphate and triamcinolone-21-sulfate. The antiphlogistic antibiotics salts are used in pharmaceutical preparations as controlled-release antibiotic/antibiotics drugs. The invention describes antiphlogistic-antibiotic pharmaceutical preparations for which mixtures in the solid state of aggregation are used, which are composed of an easily water soluble salt of gentamicin, clindamycin, neomycin, streptomycin, tetracycline, doxicycline, oxytetracycline and/or rolitetracycline and at least one easily water soluble salt of ibuprofen, naproxen, indomethacin, dexamethasone-21-phosphate, dexamethasone-21-sulfate, triamcinolone-21-phosphate and/or triamcinolone-21-sulfate and at least one inorganic and/or organic pharmaceutical adjuvant and which are used as permanent or temporary implants in the form of tablets and/or molded bodies.

  • Method of reducing the solubility of calcium sulfate dihydrate in an aqueous suspension and method of making same

    The suspension of needle-shaped (acicular) calcium sulfate dihydrate particles is prepared by mixing freshly calcined calcium sulfate hemihydrate (CaSO 4 11 2?O), having an average particle size between 1 and 100 micrometers, and water in a reactor at medium to high shear rate, with either no additives or together with acids or with calcium or sulfate containing additives. The average length and width of the resulting calcium sulfate dihydrate particles are then about 5 to 35 micrometers and 1 to 5 micrometers, respectively. The calcium sulfate dihydrate particles of reduced solubility are obtained using a calcium chelating agent, with or without the addition of a weak acid. The resulting product is a suspension of calcium sulfate dihydrate particles that can be used as a filler in papermaking. The particles have a high retention and provide improved optical properties with minimal filler losses due to solubility.

    Boron, as well as magnesium and sulfate impurities, are removed from or at least substantially reduced in a lithium containing brine to minimize lithium losses on further concentration of the brine by adding to the brine an aqueous slurry of slaked lime and a solution of calcium chloride to form a calcium borate hydrate, magnesium hydroxide and calcium sulfate dihydrate, the last named compound being precipitated and separated from the brine. On further concentration of the brine, calcium boron hydrate and magnesium hydroxide precipitate and they are also removed from the brine. In an alternate procedure, the pH of the brine is adjusted to 8.0-8.4 by addition of hydrochloric acid to form a calcium borate hydrate, which on further evaporation, is also separated from the brine. The brine is then concentrated further to recover lithium values.

    A method of producing wet process phosphoric acid comprises reacting, in a reactor system, calcium phosphate rock particles with a mixture of recycled phosphoric and sulfuric acids, preferably supplemented with added fresh sulfuric acid, to form additional phosphoric acid and calcium sulfate dihydrate (gypsum). The reactor environment is controlled so as to avoid appreciable coating of the rock particles with calcium sulfate. A gypsum slurry is withdrawn and product phosphoric acid is separated therefrom and withdrawn from the process. The gypsum may be washed with a dilute sulfuric acid wash solution which is then added to the reactor. The gypsum is passed to a first recrystallizer wherein sulfuric acid is introduced, and the gypsum is recrystallized to hemihydrate. A slurry of the hemihydrate is passed to a second recrystallizer, wherein water obtained as described below is added and the hemihydrate is recrystallized to gypsum. The liquid component of the recrystallized gypsum slurry is separated therefrom and is employed as the above mentioned dilute sulfuric acid wash solution with, preferably, a portion being diverted to the first recrystallizer to control the solids content thereof. The recrystallized gypsum is washed with water, which is then added to the second recrystallizer as described above, and the washed gypsum is removed from the process as by-product.
