The reaction of p-chlorobis(trimethylsilyl)methylenephosphine with several 1,3-dipoles and two dienes gives cycloadducts regiospecifically; these will eliminate Me3SiCl at low temperatures if the resulting compound is of an ‘aromatic’ type, leading to newcyclic > CP–double bond derivatives.
