Derivatives of acyl fluorides can be readily prepared in high yields by reaction with GroupIVB compounds. The reaction may be represented as where n=0-3, and, when M is Si, Y may be nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, or halogen. When M is Ge or Sn the scope of the reaction is more limited, but oxygen and nitrogen derivatives may be prepared. These results are discussed on the basis of the energies of the bonds
A new method for the synthesis of anti-Markovnikov Z- or E-vinyl thioethers from thiosilane and terminal alkynes under visible-light-induced photoredox/nickel dual catalysis conditions is described.
