A simple procedure for the synthesis of alkyl styryl selenides was developed. Abstract In the absence of base, the reaction of selenooenzamide with alkyl halides gives the dialkyl diselenides as the major product. While the reaction of selenobenzamide and an alkyl halide is carried out in a 1:2 molar ratio and in the presence of strong base, the dialkyl selenides predominate.
We report on new sources of selenium for the synthesis of semiconductor nanoparticles of the AIIBVI type. Three types of Se-precursors were synthesized and studied: selenophene derivatives, dialkylselenides and dialkyldiselenides.
