  有效制备1,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,5,6,6-三氟六氟8-甲亚砜基辛烷和1,1,1,2,2,3的方案报告了3,4,4-九氟-6-甲亚磺酰基己烷（氟二甲基硫醚）及其氧化为相应的亚砜（氟二甲基亚砜）。较低分子量的亚砜与草酰氯和Hunig碱结合，可将多种功能化的伯醇和仲醇氧化成醛和酮，产率极高。通过简单的连续氟萃取和过氧化氢氧化方案可有效回收氟亚砜，以重复使用。整个过程是无味的。氘标记实验用于证明氧化是通过经典的Swern机理发生的，即 通过从硫化氢分子中提取氢化物分子。尽管循环利用效率不高，但Corey-Kim氧化反应可使用较高分子量的氟硫化物进行。
